Did you know that two-fifths of millennials choose their holiday destinations based on how Instagrammable the holiday pics will be?
According to research conducted by Schofields Insurance, the drive to showcase the perfect life online is starting to affect real life decisions, meaning that 40% of young people choose vacation locations depending on how socially sharable their holiday will be.

This doesn't surprise me at all. As a 'millennial' (not fond of that term) who's very active on social media, I do feel as though there's a lot of pressure to portray a cookie cutter life. I like to feel inspired by other people's travels and it's nice to see influencers taking glamourous trips to places like Santorini, California, New York or the Maldives. But as someone who hasn't been on a nice holiday, the craving of wanderlust and the strong desire to explore can be a little tough to deal with. Also, a lot of luxurious trips on Instagram can be very expensive, which will be hard to afford on a lemonade budget.

While visiting Instagrammable locations is fantastic 'for the 'gram', it's always important to remember to make sure that you take the opportunity to immerse in the local culture, go sightseeing and view historical points of interest.

If you want to travel but can't afford to travel in luxury, then why not go on a staycation? And if you really want to 'do it all for the 'gram', then here are some Instagrammable places to visit for a staycation.
