Congratulations to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!

I watched the wedding on Saturday and I was totally mesmerized. It was amazing - it was everything I expected it to be and more! I enjoyed listening to Michael Curry's sermon, listening to the gospel choir sing 'Stand By Me' and watching Sheku Kanneh-Mason - who won the 2016 BBC Young Musician of the Year award - play the cello. It was a star-studded event too, with many of the guests coming from showbiz royalty.

Best of all, it was lovely to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle get married. They are clearly in love and totally besotted with each other. I'd love to find love like that. As Michael Curry said, "Two people fell in love and we all showed up!" Prince Harry looked handsome and Meghan Markle looked stunning and glamorous in her Givenchy wedding dress. Her 'less is more' makeup look was very pretty as well.

On the subject of weddings, I must admit something. Growing up, I was never the type of person to think about my 'dream wedding' and I didn't believe in fairytales. I don't believe in the concept of Prince Charming. To be honest, I have a very liberal attitude towards weddings and marriage, but it's nice to see two people fall in love and form a union.

But if I were to get married, I wouldn't expect it to be too extravagant. I'd expect it to be 'small but spectacular.' I'd expect it to be amazing. I know weddings can be stressful to organise so I'd hire a wedding planner. I'd want my wedding to be a special occasion full of love and joy and I'd want to be surrounded by people who'd want to see me happy. Just like Harry and Meghan's wedding, I'd want my wedding to have a modern edge to it because I'm not very traditional.

I think weddings should reflect what the bride and groom want, not what society/culture wants for them. What I liked about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding is that while it was a royal wedding - which comes with certain requirements and expectations - I really felt as though they had added their own personal touches. That's my ultimate tip: it's your special day so make sure it reflects what you want.

I know that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding would have cost a fortune - paid for by the taxpayer - but I know that weddings cost a lot for couples. But of course, there are many ways you can save money without scrimping on quality. One way to do this is to save on accessories at Confetti.
