How To Become The Best Version Of Yourself This Year

We are almost getting close to the end of February - where has the time gone? It feels as though the start of 2018 was just yesterday. Like many people, I've been trying to get back into the swing of things by getting into the daily routine of life, while working hard to achieve my goals.

I'm a big believer in change and progression. I think it's important to be introspective and I always like to take a look at myself and figure out ways to improve myself.

I want this year to be the year where my life is completely centred around me and who I am as a person. I want to become the best version of myself.

Make 2018 your year to become the best version of yourself. Here are some of the ways to do that.

Feel the fear and do it anyway
Have courage and be bold and daring. Take chances - after all, life is about taking risks. Put yourself out there and do the things that you’ve always been scared to do, but felt fearful about. Perhaps you’ve always wanted to go skiing, or you wanted to go backpacking around the world, or you’ve been dreaming of a radical career change. It doesn’t matter what it is - whether it’s big or small - have courage and complete faith, then just do it!

This is the year to put self-limiting beliefs aside and start living your life.

Learn to forgive yourself
For some of us, it’s so easy to beat ourselves up over our past mistakes, but this is not helpful at all. Learn to forgive yourself - you are human and it’s okay to slip up from time to time. Also, learn from the past and leave it where it needs to be - in the past.

Learn to love yourself
In the words of Justin Bieber, “you should go and love yourself.” You should be proud of who you are. Embrace yourself and totally own it. Be who you want to be, not what others or society expects of you, and be fully content with who you are.

Get creative
Sometimes, tapping into your creative side is a great way to become the best version of yourself as it allows you to express yourself and grow. Paint, draw, design, write, etc! Express, embrace and nurture your creativity.

Learn a new skill (or hone your existing skills)
Learning doesn’t stop when you graduate high school, college or graduate school. Learning is a lifelong journey which helps to broaden your horizons, and there are so many ways you can learn something new. For example, you could learn a language, teach yourself web design or complete an online course in creative writing.

Don’t sweat the small stuff

Look at the bigger picture. Life's too short. Enjoy the wonderful moments and don’t waste your time fussing over the things that are totally minor and superficial.

What will you do to become the best version of yourself this year?
