10 Reasons to Visit London During the Summer

London is an amazing place to be, especially in the summer, so come and visit!  Undoubtedly London is one of the best cities in the world to explore, and there are so many things to see and do here, so here are 10 reasons to visit during the summer.
1. You can visit the tourist attractions of course!
London is on of the best places to tour and explore.  You can go sightseeing and visit the iconic and historical attractions and points of interest, such as Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, the O2, Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Palace, Alexandra Palace, the OXO Tower, Palace of Westminster, British Museum, Madam Tussauds, the River Thames, St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, The Gherkin, etc.

2. You can explore the famous parks, gardens and green spaces.
Some people are under the impression that London is just a concrete jungle but despite being a city it is famous for its parks, gardens and green spaces, so go and explore, take a stroll, cycle and chill out and relax! Some of London's well-known parks include: St James' Park, Green Park, Hampstead Heath, Streatham Park, Richmond Park and Battersea Park. Some of London's best known gardens include Kensington Gardens, Kew Gardens, Hampton Court Palace Gardens, Kyoto Gardens (in Holland Park) and Queen's Wood (in Highgate)

3. You can travel on a cable car.
'Fly' around East London, Greenwich and the Thames and discover a unique view of London by getting a cable car with Emirates Air Line.  You'll also be able to view the O2 from above!

4. Free events!
London is one of the most expensive places in the world but there are so many free events, so you don't have to worry about spending so much money to have fun.  You can go to museums, exhibitions, events (such as the Notting Hill Carnival) and some attractions without having to purchase a ticket of pay a penny.

5. You can get a panoramic views of London.
London has such a beautiful skyline, and it's one of the most fascinating landscapes in the world, so get a bird's eye glimpse of the skyline (from different angles) from these locations: the London Eye, The Shard, Emirates Air Line, Greenwich Observatory and King Henry's Mound, Richmond Park.

6. Food and drink!
One of the best things about London is the vast amount of food and drink outlets!  There is a huge variety of bars, restaurants, caf├ęs, coffee shops and pubs, so you are spoilt for choice.  You can literally go anyway for a bite to eat or a drink, and because there are so many places to choose from there are too many places to recommend.  However, try venturing into areas such as Leicester Square, Notting Hill, Chelsea, Kensington, Camden, Brixton, Covent Garden, Putney, Camberwell, Bayswater and Regent's Street.

7. Go shopping!
London is undoubtedly one of the best places in the world to go shopping, and summer is one of the best times to go shopping because of the sales, so you can go on a massive shopping spree!  The most obvious places to go shopping are Oxford Street, Bond Street, Regent Street, Covent Garden and Westfield (Shepherd's Bush/White City and Stratford.)
While in London it's also best to visit the most famous stores as well: Harrods, Selfridges (Oxford Street), Topshop (Oxford Street), Hamleys (if you like toys!), Harvey Nichols (Knightsbridge), Liberty of London, Fortnum & Mason, Debenhanms (Oxford Street), Fenwick (Bond Street) and John Lewis.

8. Markets
London is home to some of the best markets in the world, and the markets are some of the best places for food, drink and shopping, so make sure you visit these markets: Brick Lane Market, Portobello Market, Camden MarketGreenwich Market, Old Spitfields Market and Southbank Market.

9. Entertainment and nightlife.
London is great for entertainment and nightlife.  It has a variety of bars, clubs, theatres, and London is host to a number of events and shows which are occurring in the summer.

10. Increase your knowledge of culture.
If you are interested in culture and humanities, then London is fantastic because you can visit as many museums and galleries.  Some may charge entry fees but there are so many free museums and galleries will allow you to enter for free: The National Art Gallery, the Science Museum, British Museum, Natural History Museum, V&A, Museum of London, the National Gallery, National Maritime Museum and Tate Modern.
