Travel Whispers Challenge

As sad as it is for me to admit this, I have not been abroad in a few years - as a result of lack of available funds and studying away at university - and that makes me feel as though I am unfortunate because I know that I have been missing out on adventures abroad.
The last time I went abroad, I had a very negative and toxic experience from the moment I was packing for the holiday until the end of it. It left me feeling scarred and hurt for a very long time and it killed off my passion for travel, especially travel with others. I am not particularly interested in solo travel but I think that when you go travelling you should always travel with people who treat you right and get on with you well, not bitter and nasty people who think it's okay to be verbally abusive towards you. When I go abroad I like to make sure that I am surrounded by people I know because I feel a lot safer that way.

I really really really want to go travelling. Deep down inside I am an adventurous person at heart and I am quite free-spirited. I am a keen explorer at heart. All I want to do in my life is travel and see the beauty and the joy of the world.

That's all I want.

I hope that over the next few years I can get into the habit of saving up for travel and travelling more. In fact, I want to get to a stage in my life where I am travelling to new places several times a year!

If you had to move to a country that you’ve NEVER been to, and live there for ten years, where would you go?
I think I'd love to live in Canada. It's a country with a very good standard of living and it has a good healthcare system from what I have read. It's also quite diverse.

If you had to live in a hotel for the rest of your life, which hotel would you choose and why?
I don't have any hotels in mind but it would have to be a top, posh, five-star (or seven-star) hotel, preferably in London. Maybe the Ritz, the May Fair Hotel or the Conrad St. James' Hotel.

If you could only eat the cuisine of one nationality forever, which would you choose?
This isn't a particular nationality of food, but I think I would love to eat the Mediterranean diet for the rest of my life. I am trying to incorporate this diet into my life anyway. The Mediterranean diet is native to Italy, France, Greece and Spain and it is one of the most healthiest diets in the world.

Who has given you ‘holiday envy’ recently, and how?
I would say that, without a doubt, blogger and YouTuber Em Sheldon (of Em Talks) always gives me holiday envy, via her blog, her Instagram page and her YouTube channel. She goes to some of the most amazing places in the world and she has inspired me to make travelling a huge priority in my life.

If you had to look at the same sunrise or the same sunset every day, where in the world would you never get bored of seeing?
Probably the sunset from somewhere very exotic.

If you were taking a ‘staycation’ in your home town, where would it be and what would you recommend others to do?
Similar to my previous response - I'd stay in a posh hotel in London and go around exploring the city with friends. There are so many things to see, do and visit in London.

What is top of your travel bucket list for 2017?
I'd love to visit Germany during Christmastime and I'd love to go to Lisbon in Portgual.
