5 Things To Do In London During The Winter

London during the winter season is one of the best places to be, whether you are visiting for the day, weekend, week or month.

There are so many things to see, do and visit, but here are some of my recommendations.

1. Visit Winter Wonderland
I have been to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park three times and I absolutely love it! There are so many activities and attractions at the wonderland - rides, German markets, other Christmas markets, the skating rink, Santa's grotto and much more.

2. Go on the London Eye
I have been on the London Eye three times. I went during the day on the hottest and sunniest days, but I would love to go one at night so that I could see the pretty lights of London.

3. Go shopping!
This is an obvious one but shopping in London during the Christmas season might be for your if you are searching for presents and/or you just happen to be a shopaholic. There are so many places where you can go to shop - not just the obvious places such as Oxford Street and Bond Street. However, I would recommend (window) shopping at Harrods and Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, and John Lewis and Selfridges on Oxford Street.

P.S. if you are a child at heart then I would recommend exploring Hamley's on Regent Street.

4. Visit Covent Garden and Carnaby Street!
Take a stroll around Covent Garden and Carnaby street, which are full of local and national shops and cool places to eat and drink. Plus, these streets are beautifully decorated at Christmas.

5. Go skating
Now, I must admit, I don't ice-skate and I hate any activity that involves ice (seriously) but if you are a lover of ice and you fancy having a bit of fun then ice skating at Winter Wonderland or Somerset House is great to do for a day out.

  1. I love this list of things to do - I always visit Covent Garden and Carnaby Street each year. I sometimes dread the tourists, but it's an absolute must to get yourself into the Christmas spirit. Despite living in London, I've never visited Winter Wonderland and I am looking forward to doing so this year.

    1. I love visiting Covent Garden and Carnaby Street, but I've not been for a few years (I've been away studying outside of London.) And you should definitely go to Winter Wonderland, I 100% recommend it! :)
