The 'Lost In A Book' Tag

Sunday, April 24, 2016

Last month I wrote about loving books, losing myself in a world of literature and rediscovering my love for novels all over again.  You can read that post here.

As a child I used to read any novel I could get my hands on, then as I got older I lost interest.  Now my passion for reading novels again and now I'm happy to lose myself in a world of books once again!

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Yes - in my bed or on the sofa.

Bookmark or random piece of paper?
A proper bookmark please.

Can you stop reading or do you have to stop at a chapter?
I try to keep reading as much as I can't but if I can't then I stop at a chapter.

Do you eat or drink whilst reading?
I don't eat whilst reading.  If I have a drink, I'd have a glass of water or a cup or herbal tea.

E-reader or real book?
Real book of course! I'm so glad e-readers didn't exist when I was a child.  I love the feel of a real book, and I couldn't bear to read from a screen.

Music or TV while reading?
Neither - I need to have peace and quiet in order to read.

One book at a time or several at once?
One at a time!  I need to focus on each book.

Reading at home or everywhere?
If I read outside, then I'd read in the local coffee shop or library.  Otherwise, I always read at home.

Read aloud or silently in your head?
I read silently in my head.

Fiction or non-fiction?
Either.

Do you read ahead or skip pages?
Erm...I read every single page from start to finish.

Break the spine or keep a book like new?
Who the hell breaks the spine of a book?!

Do you write in your books?
Nope!

Your favourite book?
I don't have a favourite.  I like reading all sorts of books that keep me hooked and focused on the plot.

  1. I'm totally with you on real books! I adored reading as a child and I'm slowly getting back into it as an adult (high school killed my love for it) but I don't think I would have ever liked reading as much as a kid if I was doing it on an iPad or Kindle.

  2. We have every single point in common. What's your favorite genre? I also can't choose a favorite book. Hello? That's like choosing a child.
