Eating Out: My Favourite Restaurants & Cuisines

Tuesday, April 05, 2016

I absolutely love dining out.

Eating out is one of my most favourite things to do socially.  It's great because I love to try out different foods, and it's great to catch up with friends over a meal.

One of the reasons why I want to travel to many places in the world is because I want to taste as many cuisines as possible.

I usually eat at the same restaurants, or I eat the same cuisines.   don't know if I'd consider myself much of a foodie, but I always like to try something new.

I love, love, love, love, love, love Nandos!  I absolutely love flame-grilled peri-peri chicken and piri piri chips!  I always order boneless thighs or butterfly chicken with peri peri chips.  I always order with a medium or hot level of spice, then when I receive my order I add garlic peri peri sauce.  Spicy, but I love it!  I love spice!  I then finish of with a mango quenches or a Sagres Radler, a lemon-flavoured larger drink.

I also love to eat at Frankie & Benny's, and I do like pizza, paster and Italian American cuisines. I once ordered a Pollo Calzone (folded over chicken pizza) which was absolutely delicious!

Speaking of pizza, I love eating at Pizza Hut, and I tend to order any pizza with chicken in it, along with a smoothie or a milkshake.

Another favourite cuisine of mine is Chinese.  Ever since I was a child I have always loved eating Chinese, and growing up in London I would eat at a Chinese restaurant in Leicester Square in Central London (which I highly recommend!)  I usually order deep fried shrimp in batter or aromatic crispy duck for the starter, and beef chow fun/egg fried rice/chicken fried rice for the main course.  Then I order Chinese tea.

I don't normally eat any other East Asian or South-East Asian cuisines but I would recommend Anna's Thai Restaurant in South Croydon.  Anna's has some great Thai food and the restaurant has a lovely ambience to it.

I have eaten at other restaurants such as Bella Italia, Zizi's and Piza Express, and I love eating Indian food, fish and chips and local pub food as well.

There are some restaurants I really want to try out: Five Guys, TGI Fridays, Cafe Rouge, Byron Burgers, Bill's and a steakhouse.

I think I will always love eating out.  Most nights I cook from scratch and I don't eat out often, so eating out is a treat for me, and another way to socialise and try out different food.

What's your favourite restaurant?  Do you have any recommendations?

  1. I'm obsessed with Nandos too! Its so sad because I literally haven't been in around a year :( I'm so so fussy when it comes to food, the only meat I eat is chicken so I'm like a child at a restaurant - Chicken nuggets and chips for me!
