My Bedroom Is My Sanctuary

*Not my actual bedroom.
My bedroom is my sanctuary.

For me, my bedroom has always been my place, a place of peace, and a safe haven I can disappear to when life gets a bit too much.  Growing up, my bedroom was my refuge, and at university it is still my refuge.

Obviously it's a place for me to get a good night's rest, but I also blog, study, read and relax in my bedroom.  I am hoping this will change in the future though.  I think that a bedroom should be a place for sleeping only, and I have always wanted a study of my own, full of books and complete with a desk, posters, my laptop/desktop computer, and a small sofa.

I'd love to have massive bedroom with a luxury king-sized bed, a make-up table, a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite, all for me.  That would be the dream!

Throughout my life I've always had my own room (I'm the eldest) and that's great because I am very strict about having my privacy and my boundaries, and I don't like sharing with people anyway.  I'm an introvert so at the end of a busy day I need somewhere I can retreat to where I can take a nap and relax.

I always like to have a comfortable bed.  I have two duvets (yes, two), lots of sheets, a fresh mattress, a pillow and a couple of cushions, and I wash my sheets regularly so they always smell fresh, and they make my room smell fresh as well!

I always keep my room clean and organised, no matter how busy I am.  I like to deep clean and de-clutter my room, and leaving my room looking nice and tidy and putting my mind at ease.  A tidy and organised room makes for a focused mind!

I have an en-suite at university, which is the best thing ever, because I hate sharing bathrooms, toilets and sinks with anyone!

All in all, I think your bedroom has to be your own.  For me, it's definitely my own and my place of escape.
