International Happiness Day!

Sunday 20th March 2016 was International Happiness Day.  Yay! :)

I view happiness as a very important value in life.  It's vital but it's priceless.  Where would we be if we couldn't just be happy?  There are so many bitter, angry, resentful, insecure, miserable and jealous people in the world, but I'm the type of person who just loves to smile and find happiness, and I'd always choose happiness over being a horrid nasty person with pent up negative feelings.

I can't say I've had the best life - my childhood was full of bad memories and a lot of misery - but I still want to be happy.  I still want to be able to wake in the morning and feel happy.  For so long so many people tried to tear down my chances of happiness, but not anymore.  I deserve to be happy, so I don't let anything or anyone get in the way of that.

However, it's taken me a long time to realise something: happiness is not the end goal, and it's certainly not the final destination.

For myself, I find happiness in the little things, and in the things that matter so much to me.

Here's a list of all the things that make me happy!

Listening to music

Spending time with my (true) friends

Eating chocolate

Reading books

Reading magazines

Nail polish

Flowers and florals

Fresh bedsheets

Dining out

Exploring beauty halls and eyeing up makeup brands

London (it's my hometown)

Hot chocolate

Hearing the birds chirping at the crack of dawn

Discovering new places

Receiving freebies, goodies and presents

Meeting new people

Sunrise and sunshine

Fresh snow (when it's not melted into slush or ice)

Walking in the park

Fresh starts

Blossom trees

Purple lipstick

Very black mascara

What makes you happy?
