5 Tips On How To Live A Champagne Lifestyle On A Lemonade Budget

Wednesday, February 10, 2016

Living a fancy lifestyle has its perks, but it comes at a cost.

However, you don't need to be super-rich (or even rich) to live a high flying lifestyle!

You can live a lifestyle that doesn't significantly drain your purses, so here are top 5 tips on living a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget.

1. Work
Get a job so that you can have more money in your pockets and purses for those lovely purchases!  Also, you could be entitled to a discount and perks.  For example, if you work at Marks & Spencer you can get 20% discount in store and online. So if you wanted to take of M&S's offer on 'dine in for 2 for £10' you it will cost you £8, saving you £2.

2. Save
Get a money jar and start putting in coins and notes on a regular basis. You'd be very surprised how much you can save over a period of time.  Every little helps!  Each pound adds up!

3. Purchase 'Dupes'
High-end brands are great but there are so many brand that are not as high-end but produce similar but fantastic products of high quality.  If you love make-up, swap brands such as MAC, Illamasqua, Butter London and Essie for Barry M, Rimmel London, MUA and Miss Sporty. Try to buy products in different places – i.e. purchase from the high street instead of designer stores, and purchase from Superdrug instead of high-end make-up stores.  Alternatively, you could save up for those high-end beauty purchases!

4. Sale
Hunt around for bargains and sale items. You can find 'hidden gems' of products: clothes, shoes, bags, purses, jewellery, etc. Who needs to spend hundreds of pounds on a piece of clothing when you can get that same piece of clothing for much less?

5. Vouchers
There are many great websites where you can find discounts for a luxurious lifestyle. For example, if you sign up to Wowcher the website automatically emails you discounts for trips, dining out, bars, coffee shops, cosmetic treatments, afternoon teas, holidays, hair and beauty and spa days.

Extra tip: Try to see if there are any free events you can attend. You need not spend a fortune on attending high-class events and venues (such as museums) when many are free to enter (especially in London!)

Another tip: Get loyalty cards!  Every time you scan your loyalty card during every transaction you rack up points, which add up and can be used as a discount!
