Quick Post: My Top 5 Snack Substitutes*

I have a sweet tooth. I love sweets and chocolate.

I sometimes find myself snacking on sweets and chocolate and that's not very good, so a while ago I decided to change my habits and now I nibble on healthy foods instead.  I decided to find alternative ways to suppress my cravings.

Here are my top 5 healthy snacks.

1. Dried apricots

Dried apricots are so tasty! Apricots are rich in vitamin A, which helps to strengthen the immune system and is very good for the skin and hair.

2. Raisins and sultanas

I love chocolate-coated (or yogurt-coated) raisins but now I try to eat raisins and sultanas without any coating.  Raisins and sultanas contain antioxidants and fiber which are both really good for the digestive system.

3. Fresh fruit

It's important to get five portions of fresh fruit in your diet every day.  Fresh fruit contains lots of vitamins and minerals and are great sources of fiber, meaning that they help to strengthen the immune system and digestive system.  This means that you are protected against illnesses and certain diseases.

4. Mini Cravings by Laughing Cow*

If you feel really peckish then you can nibble on Mini Cravings by Laughing Cow.  Each cheese cube is only 14 calories and high is calcium, so these cheese cubes make for a very satisfying snack.

5. A glass of water

Sometimes when we feel hungry it's not actual hunger: in fact chances are you are dehydrated, so the best thing to do is to make sure you drink enough glasses a day.  Alternatively, you can drink herbal tea.
