To Do List: Things I Want To Do In Leeds & Yorkshire

Monday, August 17, 2015

A few months ago I wrote a blog post about my desire to explore Yorkshire.

As a busy university student and blogger, I sometimes find it hard to make the time to explore places in Leeds and Yorkshire and I don't always get the chance to do this as much as I would like.

I am going into my final year this September and I want to make the most of my last year as a Leeds University student.

I have always had so many ideas in mind about the things I wanted to do when I came to university, and those ideas didn't consist of the typical student lifestyle experience.  I always wanted much more (and much better) than that, and I wanted to make the most of my university experience.  So far I have done so many things since I moved to Leeds for university, but there are so many things that I haven't done, so I created a list of all the things I want to do before I leave university (and possibly Leeds.)

I have so many places I want to see!

Visit Harrogate and go out for afternoon tea.

Visit Sheffield.

Go for a day out in York (preferably in November or December.)

Visit Ilkley.

Go for a walk in Roundhay Park.

Visit Weatherby.

Go to the M&S Archive.

Go for a day out in Scarborough.

Visit the Leeds Art Gallery.

Visit Kirstall Abbey.

Visit the Royal Armouries.

Watch a play at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Things I have done so far since I moved to Leeds:
Joined societies at university.

Made good use of LUU - it has many features, such as a pub, a hidden cafe, a bar, really cool shop and other things.  Plus hosts fantastic events, some of which I have been to.

Watched a debate (at LUU.)

Written for a magazine.

Visited a farm in Meanwood, and went for a stroll.

Gone out to many social events.

Gone to a student lock-in.

Gone to Hyde Park for Bonfire Night (I did this in 2012 and 2013.)

Gone to Freshers' Fairs (of course!)

Visited Leeds City Museum.

Visited the Corn Exchange.

Visited Kirkgate Market.

Gone shopping in the Trinity Shopping Centre.

Visited a variety of restaurants, bars and pubs.

Gone on the Otley run twice - I 100% recommend this!

Visited Headingley - I have been here numerous times and I would definitely recommend this!  There are a variety of bars, pubs and local shops here!

Met some fantastic people at university - through my course and through societies.

Gone to the German Christmas Market in Millenium Square every winter.

Went to see the Christmas lights turned on in 2012.

:)
